If you thought that only grandeur and class defined Rolls-Royce, you're wrong. The iconic UK based brands is charting new waters with its driverless car concept and the slightly more understated 'Roboships', that look straight out of an edgy dystopian movie.

Last week, the company that makes the chariot of the seriously uber-rich rolled out the Rolls Royce 103EX. The concept car is powered by a AI powered chauffeur called Eleanor, with automatic doors, and two heavy square box doors that somehow are designed to run smoothly like wheels.
It is the future of shipping - and there's not a single sailor on board.
Rolls Royce’ fleets of 'drone ships'
A global fleet of these ships will be manned by a small crew of 7 to 14 people across the world, using interactive smart screens, voice recognition systems, holograms and surveillance drones on a ‘holodeck’.
Iiro Lindborg, General Manager, Remote & Autonomous Operations, Ship Intelligence, Rolls-Royce, said: “We’re living in an ever-changing world where unmanned and remote-controlled transportation systems will become a common feature of human life. They offer unprecedented flexibility and operational efficiency. Our research aims to understandthe human factors involved in monitoring and operating ships remotely. It identifies ways crews ashore can use tools to get a realistic feel for what is happening at sea.”
Rolls Royce told the Daily Mail that they’ve begun testing the tech behind these ships, and will launch them in 4 years. The crew will navigate the ships using 360-degree views from the drone ship.
