When Nike's 'Da-Da-Ding' video literally washed over our Twitter and Facebook timelines, with a fair amount of guilt, most of us realised that we couldn't recognise a majority of the sportswomen in it. Our ignorance somewhat mirrored the dismissive attitude that women's sports has to deal with relentlessly.
Mohamed Rizwan, Creative Director at Weiden + Kennedy Delhi, the agency behind the ad, told HuffPost India, "Sports in India has a massive image problem, particularly for women. What we set out to do is give it a complete makeover by making it cool, accessible and fun. To that end, we commissioned some of the best image makers and musicians, and got together a crew of women that best represent sport in India right now."
Given the kind of accolades that have come the video's way, one can safely say the agency has succeeded in achieving what they set out to do.
Also, here's a complete list of all the kick-ass sportswomen who feature in the video. Some of the pictures are from their social media profiles, not the Nike video itself.
